Organisation Background:
The Wallace Collection is a national museum in an historic London town house. The collection was aquired prinicpally in the 19th century by the third and fourth Marquesses of Hertford and Sir Richard Wallace. In the 29 galleries are unsurpassed displays or French 18th-century painting, furniture and porcelain toegther with superb Old Master paintings. A magnificent collection of princely arms and armour is shown in four galleries and there are further important displays of gold boxes, miniatures, sculpture and Medieval and Renaissance works of art.

Opening Times:
The Wallace Collection is free and open daily from 10am - 5pm Opening Hours Open Daily 10am - 5pm. Closed 24, 25, 26 December Address The Wallace Collection Hertford House Manchester Square London W1U 3BN Admission Admission is free but donations are gratefully received.

Transport:
The Wallace Collection is conveniently located in Central London, just a few minutes walk from Oxford Street, Baker Street and Marylebone Village. Visiting by Bus Numbers 2, 10, 12, 13, 30, 74, 82, 94, 113, 137, 274 all stop nearby. Visiting by Rail Marylebone BR Station is approximately a 10-15 minute walk. Visiting by Tube The nearest tubes are Bond Street (Central & Jubilee Lines) and Baker Street (Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, Jubilee and Metropolitan Lines). Oxford Circus (Bakerloo, Central, Victoria Lines) is a 10-15 minute walk.

Other information:

We have a programme of on-going room refurbishments with some of our galleries closed. Please look at our website for updated information on room closures. Guides can wear Portable Hearing Loops on request, please inform the Information Desk or your Guide before the start of the tour if you require this service. The Lecture Theatre is equipped with an Audio Loop System and has space for up to 4 wheelchair users.
